Welcome back baseball!  With the return of the Major League season, we are seeing unprecedented increases in card prices.  This is especially applicable to the young stars like Acuna, Soto, Tatis Jr. and Torres and established superstars like Trout and Betts.  With market activity of this nature, it can feel like cards have gotten extremely expensive in a short period of time.  However, what makes collecting great is that there are always deals to be found.  

Below are four baseball players who I believe are undervalued right now as well as a card recommendation.  To develop this list, I focused on players with the following characteristics:

  • No All-Star selections
  • Age 25 or younger
  • Play in a major media market
  • First Bowman Chrome card valued at around $10, or less (raw version)

Are any of the players below future Hall of Famers?  Probably not.  But if they continue their current trajectory, they will be in the discussion when it comes to future All-Star games and MVP votes.  When this happens, you will be able to make some money, if you jump on their cards now.
