After growing up in Canada and playing in college at Santa Clara University, Nash was selected with the 15th overall pick of the 1996 draft by the Phoenix Suns. Nash’s career started slowly, but in 1998 a trade to Dallas allowed him to team with Dirk Nowitzki. In Dallas he improved significantly before returning to Phoenix as a free agent in 2004. Nash played a total of 18 NBA seasons. He was an All-Star 8 times and won 3 MVP awards. Off the court Nash has received numerous honors for his philanthropic work. He is the current head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
