Gridiron Ink
With NFL training camps in full swing and the start of the regular season just 3 weeks away, collectors are turning their attention to football cards. Historically, autographs have been an important component of the sports memorabilia hobby, and the gridiron is no exception. In this article, we will look at some of the favorites for NFL MVP this season and compare the prices of their autographed cards.
For this exercise, we will focus on signatures that were originally distributed in sealed packs. A word of caution, these cards can get expensive. If you are considering spending several hundred dollars on an autographed card, you cannot do too much research before making the purchase.
Josh Allen
Regarded as one of the best young quarterbacks in the league, Allen is entering his fourth professional season. He finished second in the MVP voting in 2020 and was also a Pro Bowl selection that year. At the time of writing, most sportsbooks have the Buffalo Bills as the favorites to win the Super Bowl. This could be an early indicator of a special season for Allen as he and the Bills build on their 11-6 record from last year. Allen’s certified autographs start at around $325, and his 2018 Panini National Treasures Rookie Gear card costs $10,000 as a buy it now on eBay.
