Considered one of the classic football card sets of all-time, 1957 Topps features a horizontal design with a portrait on the left half and an action shot on the right.  At 154 cards this is one of the smaller football editions ever released by Topps, but like many sets of the era, the high number cards (89 to 154) are roughly twice as rare as the first 88.  On release, 1957 Topps football was available in three different pack and price options.  Single cards were sold with a stick of gum for 1 cent, 6 card packs went for 5 cents, and 12 card cello packs also retailed.
