Nikola Jokić

After winning NBA MVP Awards in 2021 and 2022, “The Joker” is having another marvelous season.  With averages of 25.2 points, 9.5 assists, and 10.7 rebounds per game, he has a chance to win his third straight MVP.  In league history, only Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlin and Larry Bird achieved this feat.  

In addition, the Nuggets currently have the number one seed in the Western Conference.  Could this finally be the year Denver gets over the hump and wins a title?  Jokić was drafted in 2014, but he did not play in the NBA until 2015.  His Panini Prizm rookie cards from that year are especially appealing to collectors.  Jokić’s draft status resulted in him being included in fewer products than most modern rookies, and 2015 products are perceived to have lower print runs than the sets of today.

Jokić’s 2015-16 Panini Prizm in PSA 10 runs in excess of $500.  This is more than I would pay for this card.  However, in PSA 9, this same card is a more budget friendly $175.  The PSA 9 seems to be a good value if you like Nikola.
