Centers tend to be overlooked by card collectors.  This coupled with off court issues and frequent run-ins with teammates and coaches have suppressed Howard’s card values.  However, one cannot ignore his credentials for enshrinement.  In 15 seasons Howard has averaged 16.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.  He has also made 8 All-Star teams, 8 All-NBA teams and been selected Defensive Player of the Year 3 times.  Often a player will see value increases as their career winds down and their Hall of Fame merits start to be discussed in the media.  In anticipation of this, Howard is a low-risk, potential high return card pick-up.
