NFL Quarterback Buy, Sell, Hold (South Divisions Edition)
With the season half-over, collecting interest in football cards has intensified. At the forefront of this is the quarterback position. In this article, we will look at the top passer on each team in the NFL’s Southern Divisions and determine if it is most prudent to buy, sell or hold the cards of that player.
Deshaun Watson
Team: Houston Texans
Example Rookie Card: 2017 Panini Prizm #279
Current Raw eBay Buy It Now: $120
Verdict: Hold
2020 has been an interesting year for Watson. In March, the Texans traded away DeAndre Hopkins, his best receiver. Then, in September, he signed a $160 million contract which will keep him in Houston until at least 2024. Finally, after an 0-4 start, the team parted ways with head coach and general manager Bill O’Brian. In four NFL seasons, Watson has demonstrated he can play. He has a solid touchdown to interception ratio, a lifetime passer rating of 102.7, and has made two Pro Bowls. However, the Texans are not going to be a contender anytime soon. At current prices, there is no need to rush to buy Watson’s cards.
