NFL Quarterback Buy, Sell, or Hold (West Divisions Edition)
Russell Wilson

Example Rookie Card: 2012 Topps #165
Current Raw eBay Buy It Now: $50
Verdict: Sell
Wilson is the hottest player in the hobby right now. In 9 NFL seasons, he has won a Super Bowl, made the Pro Bowl 6 times and owns a lifetime passer rating of 102. Many regard Wilson as the next sure-fire Hall of Fame quarterback after the Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Roethlisberger generation retires.
That said, there are a couple of things to be cautious about before buying a lot of Wilson’s cards at their current prices. First, he has never won an NFL MVP. Now, that could change with the way he is playing this season, but the same sportswriters who vote on the MVP will eventually evaluate his Hall of Fame credentials. This makes me wonder if Wilson’s eventual induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame is as assured as everyone seems to think it is. Second, the Seahawks are not going to win the Super Bowl this year. Sorry Seattle, there is no way you are beating the Buccaneers in the NFC playoffs or the Chiefs in the Super Bowl should you make it that far.
Overall, Wilson has some compelling characteristics that are driving up his value, but the current prices are too high. If you own his cards, take the profits while you can.
Do you own any cards of these western division quarterbacks? Do you agree with these buy/hold/sell verdicts? I would love to hear from you. Please leave your comments in the section below.
