Potential Baseball Hall of Famers (Part 3 of 3)
Juan Soto
One of the best young hitters in the big leagues, Soto has two All-Star selections, a batting title, and a World Series ring. Looking to the 2023 season, Soto is one of the favorites to win NL MVP and should benefit tremendously from the ban of defensive shifts. At only twenty-four years old, he has plenty of time to continue his march to Cooperstown. Soto’s 2018 Topps Chrome Update rookie is $60 in PSA 9 and $130 in PSA 10.
A word of caution on Soto cards. His 2018 rookies, and particularly his Topps Update and Topps Chrome Update, are some of the most graded cards in the history of PSA. The populations of these cards are extremely high. If you buy Soto rookies and plan to sell them for a profit, you are betting on him having not just a Hall of Fame career but being a historically great. You will also need a substantial number of new collectors to enter the hobby. If these two things don’t happen, the sheer number of Soto cards available will hold down their value.
