Carl Yastrzemski
After Ted Williams, “Yaz” is the most decorated player to wear a Boston Red Sox uniform. He spent twenty-three seasons with the club playing leftfield and first base. Yastrzemski won three batting titles, was an All-Star eighteen times, and received seven Gold Gloves.
In his glorious 1967 season, Yastrzemski was the American League’s Most Valuable Player while winning the Triple Crown in batting. In 1989, his first year eligible, Yastrzemski was elected to the Hall of Fame, receiving 94.6 percent of the votes cast. Yastrzemski’s rookie card is from 1960 Topps.
