Regrets, I’ve Had a Few … (Part 2 of 2)
Don Mattingly
Mattingly spent fourteen seasons with the New York Yankees as a first baseman and outfielder. During his career, he was a six-time All-Star, nine-time Gold Glove winner, and won the American League MVP in 1985. Mattingly’s six-year stretch from 1984 to 1989 where he led the league in hits and total bases twice and played nearly flawless defense, ranks as one of the best periods of any career in Major League history.
While not a Hall of Famer, Mattingly is one of the most popular players from the 1980s and widely collected. His rookie from 1984 Topps is one of the gems of the junk wax era. PSA 9 copies of this card cost $80.
