We have crossed the halfway point of another NFL season, and for sports card enthusiasts, it is time to start thinking about the playoffs.  It is always fun to speculate about which teams will finish the season strong and potentially make a run to the Super Bowl.  Additionally, for those of us who flip football cards, this it can be an opportunity to make a little money.  At the time of writing, the sportsbooks favored the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs as the three teams with the highest odds to win the Super Bowl in February 2022.

Below are six low cost rookie cards for players from the Bucs, Packers and Chiefs that might provide quality flip opportunities over the next three months.  The strategy here is to buy these cards now and sell them after the player has a good playoff game or his team makes it to the conference championship or the Super Bowl.

2017 Panini Prizm Silver #219 Leonard Fournette

Now in his fifth season, Fournette has been an average performer throughout his tenure in the NFL.  His career average of 4.0 yards per carry is nothing special.  However, he does have the ability to have a monster game on occasion.  This was demonstrated by his four touchdowns against the Colts in Week 12.  He was also a stellar performer for the Buccaneers during the playoffs last year.  In Tampa Bay’s championship march, Fournette scored in each of the team’s four games and racked up 89 yards rushing and 46 yards receiving in the Buccaneers Super Bowl victory.  I am looking for a similar performance from Fournette in the playoffs this year, making his 2017 Panini Prizm Silver at $40 in a PSA 9 a solid buy.
