Since the COVID-19 restart, de Jong has battled a muscle injury and has had difficulty staying on the field.  In addition, he has only scored twice for Barcelona in 29 appearances throughout the 2019-20 season.  However, Barcelona is one of the super-power clubs in the world, de Jong’s contract with the club runs through 2024, and the Dutch always seem to punch above their weight on the World Cup stage.  Look for Frenkie to get healthy and shine in the world spotlight over the next decade.
