Rapinoe is one the most honored female soccer players in the history of the United States.  She was named FIFA’s Player of the Year in 2019, won a gold medal at the 2012 London games, and has been instrumental in 2 United States World Cup titles.  At age 35, the Tokyo games may be her last shot at glory on an international stage.  It will be interesting to watch Rapinoe fight for playing time on a squad filled with young, talented players and the United States team overall attempt to redeem a quarterfinal exit at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
