Welcome back basketball!  With the NBA season kicking off, it is a perfect time to consider young players who might have a breakout year during the 2020-2021 season.  For this list I will focus on players who are under 25 years-old, are receiving starter minutes, are worthy of watching as potential buys throughout the season, and are, in my opinion, underrated by collectors.

RJ Barrett

After being selected with the third overall pick by the Knicks in 2019, Barrett had an inconsistent rookie year.  However, in this, his second season, he has shown progress.  In eight starts for the team he has averaged 18 points and 8 assists. With a 5-3 start, the Knicks have the look of a playoff team.  Knicks fans are starved for a winner, which should increase the value of Barrett’s cards if he continues his strong play.
