Two weeks ago, the global phenomenon known as the World Cup kicked off in Qatar.  This edition of the tournament holds special intrigue as traditional powers Brazil, Argentina, France and England are among the favorites to win.  In addition, Qatar could be the final World Cup appearance for all-time legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, and Luka Modric.  At the other end of the spectrum, this tournament is full of exciting young players in the early stages of their careers.  Below are six players worth watching as the World Cup plays out and as the club season progresses into the winter and spring.

Jude Bellingham

Leading up to the World Cup, Bellingham was in the midst of an excellent season in the Bundesliga for Dortmund.  Known for his composure and ability to control play in the mid-field, Bellingham has the look of a future English national team captain.  Like most of the stars on this list, transfer rumors constantly follow Bellingham.  It is likely that he will be wearing a Liverpool or Real Madrid jersey at the start of next season.  One of Bellingham’s earliest trading cards is his 2020-21 Topps Chrome Bundesliga.  A PSA 9 copy of this card costs $20 and a PSA 10 is $60.
